You’ll often hear me talk about my online writing community, Keyboard to Kindle, as being connected – to each other, to other writers, to external events and to learning and development.

This core value sits behind the FREE online writing retreat I’m hosting on October 13^th. In addition to three 50 mins writing sessions, we’ll be mingling with self-published authors talking about their writing journeys and sharing tasters of the Keyboard to Kindle workshops.

Another great example of staying connected is the Book Extravaganza, where writers and readers come together in person to share their love of books. Authors get to know each other and readers meet writers they do – or will – enjoy. I use these connections to talk about Keyboard to Kindle, as well as my book, The Joy Of Jars, and to then introduce new ideas and people to our community. I’ll be at the next Book Extravaganza, in Birmingham, on Saturday, 12th September.

Organised by Rosies Retro Bazaar, the Book Extravaganzas are focused around the Midlands. I’ve traded at three Book Extravaganzas now and none have disappointed. I even got to see *Melvyn Hayes, (It Ain’t Half Hot Mum), at their last event in Leamington Spa.
