I’m Joanne Barker and after a long career in journalism and corporate communications, I’ve taken early retirement to start a new adventure with words.
A chartered PR practitioner, I’m now putting my time and passion into my online writing community, Keyboard to Kindle, self-publishing my novels and short stories, book marketing, freelance public relations and event, (especially wedding), planning.
My debut, The Joy of Jars, is a shortlisted, second-chance love story, based on my own domestically challenged escapades as a single mum. My next book, Miss Wed, is a classic romance about a wedding celebrant searching for her own happy ever after.
I’ve lived the cliché and moved with my new (ish) husband to a small Worcestershire village, where we have a model railway in the kitchen and two ducks, Jon and Sally, who visit every spring. My adult children remain in Birmingham, having only just forgiven me for selling the family home.
