The Sky’s The Limit.

I was lucky enough to travel to Zaragoza in Spain to see the total solar eclipse this month, and too lazy to wake up at 4am this morning, (August 28^th), to see the partial lunar eclipse from my home in Worcestershire, England.

I’m not sure what this says about me, other than I’ll never say no to a holiday, but these cosmic events can be taken to mean the start or end of something. A time to stop and see the bigger picture; to reflect on how small we are in relation to the universe and all that’s in it.

I have a few rules for my blogs. One of them is not getting too deep and another other is staying cheerful, (often the same thing), so I won’t be talking here about how much better us humans could and should be doing things.

Instead, I’ll bring it back to earth, and more specifically the UK. September around here brings with it a sense of a new term, even for those of us who haven’t been in school for decades. It’s a time to pick up where we left off, or to start something altogether different.

I’ve always taken my foot off the pedal in August, (I hope my old boss isn’t reading this),  and then geared up again as the next month approaches. This year, my focus is on pushing forward with our online writing community, Keyboard to Kindle, and finishing my second novel, Miss Wed, ready for publication in spring 2027.

After one more workshop on editing, Keyboard to Kindle will be moving onto marketing our books; the best and worst part of being an author depending on your preferences and your day. I’ll also be hosting a FREE online writing retreat in October, to get those creative juices flowing.

The darker nights and wetter, colder, weather, will give us more time to deliver on our writing goals. If you’re ready to dust off those pages and pick up a pen, (metaphorically for most of us of course), then what are you waiting for?
